The L Word.

I'm going to say it, I know it doesn't really change anything, but I'm gay. Well, technically speaking I'm a lesbian but the word gay just sounds less like a skin disease or something you know? I understand it is pointless for me to come out on a blog that has only a few followers, but I think it's important to be open in all areas of my life. I have known I am gay for about 2 years now, and been out for over a year in real life, but now I feel like I should write a blog post about my wonderful girlfriend and just generally about how much I am loving life at the minute. This is probably not a very entertaining post, but it's more for me than any entertainment purposes.

It's not a very clear photo, but this is a photo of me and my girlfriend, Red, in Barcelona last month. I'm on the right and she's on the left. She really does make me very happy, and I don't know what I would do without her. What amazes me that we are so lucky to be living in the time period we are, things are moving forward leaps and bounds for the LGBT community and I could not be more proud to have her on my arm.

I don't hesitate to hold her hand as we walk down the street, or be slightly affectionate in public. This is because I am fully aware of the struggles that many LGBT couples go through in less accepting countries so I make the most of it here in the UK. We have had a few creepy remarks (from men) but it is usually followed by a witty comment from either of us, and we just sass away. Hopefully one day I won't have to feel in danger when around large groups of men when I am with her, but I guess that is the same struggle for any woman.

Now, let me tell you a little bit about this wonderful woman pictured here with me...

Her real name is not Red, but Jennifer and the nickname Red comes from a story I have heard too many times and do not wish to tell again ;)
She is 21
She studies at the same University as me
We met through my flat mate and best mate Megan (who is also gay)
We both enjoy travelling, being spontaneous and anything to do with water
She is much less feminine than me, and very sporty
She was my best friend before we got together
I knew she was gay before she did...

I'm not really sure what else to say about this, I guess I can leave more things for other posts, but it was important for me to just get it out beofer I carry on writing posts again.

Well that's another little update, I think that now I am being totally honest on my blog, then I can include more of my life in it, since Red and my sexuality are a huge part of my life now. If you're still reading, thank you for reading this lengthy and pointless little thought process! Hopefully more interesting stuff to come, both in my life with Red, and on my blog!

That's it really!

I saved this photo as 'Voldemort' in my computer. Three guesses why...

Baby Sister Things...

I have a baby sister! I know this is a little bit late really, since she was born on 16th October 2013, but she is here and she is PERFECT. Her name is Penny and I am now going to post some photos to show you what a beauty she is. I am twenty years old and she is my only sister, it's quite an age gap but so lovely at the same time! I will do a post soon about the baby shower I threw for my Mum because it was really lovely, and I think there are some nice ideas in there (if I say so myself).

Here are various photos of my baby sister Penny, she really is the cutest little thing.

I love this photo, she's just too cute and luckily she loves her big sister, I make her laugh.

This was taken before a family dinner over Christmas, that dress is adorable. She's more stylish than me!

I just love holding her little hands, so cute!

I really hope it snows soon... Here's me aged 16

Wedding Planning!

Okay so the title of this blog may be a little misleading... I'm not getting married! I am however a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding next April! Sounds like a long time away? In the wedding calendar it really isn't.

Today Becky and I went to a cake shop to figure out if a lady could make the cake she wants. Luckily the woman agreed and I'm attending a cake tasting soon (win)! The cake is going to be so pretty, with calla lilies (is that right?) all over it to represent our great grandmother (Nain if you're welsh like us) who won't be there, who was called Lily which I think is so sweet!

I'm so excited to be a part of the planning process and I'm going to post pictures about the whole thing as it happens!

That's it really!

This is Becky (the bride to be) in the red bridesmaid dress on the left, and I'm the little one on the right! This was taken at my parents' wedding 15 years ago...

My Dog Buddy

This is going to be a short post of mainly photos of my dog. Now, if you love dogs and in particular Bichon Frises then today is your lucky day- if not then I'm sorry for this little view into my crazy obsession with dogs. I'm sure I'd feel a bit gutted if someone posted about their cats *shudder*. Okay, now I've successfully offended the cat loving nation, let's crack on.

I guess this blog post doesn't really have a particular point other than to share with the world how cute my dog is!

That's it really!

Something for all you cat lovers out there...

June Photo Diary

Over the month of June I've been a busy bee soaking up the sun and getting in the spirit of summer! Here are a few photos I've taken on my merry way through the month...

I took a trip up to the beach with my parents which was lovely, I love spending quality time with them both, especially as my mum is pregnant and they will be very busy soon!

I'm a sucker for sunsets...

I did Europe's longest zip line which was such an adrenaline rush it was so good!

I discovered drinking lemonade out of a jam jar is much more fun than drinking out of a glass!

I experimented with geeky glasses to add a bit of fun to an outfit.

I fell in love with this dress from House of Fraser, it makes me so happy!

I personalised my bedroom! (See my post on this)

And I attended a nineties themed 21st party!

Wow June really has been busy, and through all this I managed to start blogging, which I love doing!

If you want, post responses in the comments so we can all just have a wonderful June reminiscing session like a bunch of old women drinking tea!

That's it really!

Mum's having a baby girl, that kid is gonna be so trendy!
