Fancy Friday!

Today I fancied (see what I did there) doing something a little different and coming up with a blog post entirely based upon chance. I googled adjectives that begin with the letter f and just swirled my mouse around to see what it landed on! Luckily it landed on quite an easy word to kind of twist into a blog... Don't know what I'd have done if I got 'Ferromagnetic Fridays'.

I am literally just typing what pops into my little head here so if I am all over the place I do apologise (and I'm one pear cider down too).

Here are a few things to make your Friday a little bit fancier...

1. Drink orange juice out of a wine glass
2. Listen to classical music for as long as you can
3. Wear lots of sparkle
4. Cut your toast diagonally and display it like they do in hotels

Okay so this is a little bit of a light hearted post, but honestly I just wanted to write about anything today! I have an exciting post that will hopefully upload on Sunday or Monday involving my best buddy. Despite my unusual post, the sentiment is real, don't be afraid to spice up your life in the cheapest ways possible! It's the little details in life that make it more special, ask any successful business person!

That's it really!

Being old school- Little bit o' Scrapbooking

I will admit, this is almost a year too late but I finally managed to get my America photos printed! Obviously it is quite expensive to get every photo I have ever taken printed all in one go so I am currently getting one section ticked off every pay day. This time it was my trip to America last summer, it was amazing looking through the photos because even one photo brings back so many memories! I made a collage in a frame and hung it in my room, and I have started a general scrapbook which I will display below...

This will mostly be photos now, but there is captions handwritten next to the photos in the scrap book pages if you fancy a little read (and can ready my crazy handwriting).

I hope you enjoyed looking at my photos and I also hope it inspires people to print out theirs because it's a lost art! As a sidenote this isn't even half of the pictures taken! Still got many to print...

That's it really!

Sea salt spray and OOTD

Today is a bits and bobs blog. What I mean is, it started as a rave about salt spray and its benefits; but slowly unravelled into a whole FOTD, OOTD, Salt Spray cocktail of fun.

First things first... SALT SPRAY! I use Phil Smith 'Life's a Beach' spray which I love because it saves effort in this weather. I know there's loads of types of salt spray out there in the world so I'm sure you can find one to work for you! Also, I really struggle because my hair doesn't really do anything, one of those awkward neither straight nor curly barnets, so I would recommend if you fall into this category!

Here's a picture to prove it. I like the naturalness of it really, I know it's not as polished as some would like and arguably very frizzy but honestly it's a laziness thing more than anything!

Point two! OOTD!

Today I am wearing a £4 blouse from Tesco!

It is tucked into a £6 primark skirt... Proper bargain outfit today ladies and gentlemen.

All topped off with a pair of converse that cost 4 and a half times the top and skirt put together. Totes worth it though.

Finally, here is my make up look of the day!

Ooh I'm such a poser haha.

On my eyes I have used my Stila 'In the light' pallet. For my lips I have Max Factor Ruby Tuesday. On my cheeks I have a nude Estée Lauder shade. I'm using Rimmel Glam Eyes liquid black eyeliner and maybelline the falsies mascara.

For my foundation you'll have to wait and see for on my next blog post as it's an underdog and a shocker (well I'm shocked).

That's it really!

Here is a traditional welsh lady for no reason whatsoever.

Money Supermarket Budget Bucket List

When I saw this on Dib-Dab-Debs' blog, I realised that I had to do it! It's a competition through Money Supermarket where you have to say one 'Budget' thing from your Bucket List, and one more expensive. They have generously offered £1000 to the winner to go towards their ideas, and even £2000 if over more than 50 people take part!

The reason I want to take part in this is because I am a student with very little money; and I am also a bit of a dreamer, I got me some big plans! Also, I love the film The Bucket List, it brings a tear to my eye. Even the phrase 'Kick the bucket' makes me laugh!

The way I have chosen to look at it for my budget item is to find a cheaper alternative to something big on my bucket list! Something I have wanted to do since I saw it on 'An Idiot Abroad' is attend the Holi festival of colour in India. Everything about it looks like so much fun and I think it would be an incredible experience!

I have found a cheaper way of doing this other than flying to India... There is a company called Holi One that put on these festivals all over the world, and even here in the UK! There is one taking place in London on August 3rd, but there will be one held in Liverpool at a later date (which is closer to where I live anyway). Tickets are around £37.99 if you want a bag of coloured powder, or £27.99 without so you can even save a bit of money by just going without powder! Sure saves a lot of money on a trip to India!

For my more expensive item on my Bucket List, it took a lot of thinking and deliberating. I have so many things I want to achieve, but only a few could I only do while I am young. I have always wanted to study abroad, it is something I have dreamed of doing since I knew about University and studying after school. When I was younger I wanted to attend University in America, but I couldn't really afford it so I am in Uni in the UK and that's fine! On my course, there is an option of studying abroad in the second year, but if you want to do it you have to fund your own flights there and back. I would love to go but flights are really expensive so this competition money would help out a lot!

This Money Supermarket Competition is so cool, and even if I don't win I think it's a fun blog post still, and it has reminded me about all the things I want to do in life which is nice too. There are more details on the competition on the Money Supermarket Website http://www.moneysupermarket.com/life-insurance/competitions/budgetbucketlist/ .

** This blog post did contain photographs, but I realised that I did not have permission from the original photographers to use them.

Shopping on the interweb

Although I rarely have the money for it because my car eats money, I on occasion enjoy having a little moocharoo 'on the line' as many an old person would say. There are many magical places that this can take place, but I often would go on the websites of the stores I can get to in my local big town or city. HOWEVER, I have more recently realised that I can use the internet to my advantage in finding my dream outfit! Kind of like having a personal shopper that doesn't care that you're in your onesie with no make up on and a homemade face mask. Or eating chocolate spread out the jar.

This ladies is now all taken care of via the internet, something which for many (me included) is needed as much as Oxygen and H2O. This sounds like I have only just discovered internet shopping, which would make me a complete idiot and you might be questioning my age about now. THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

A few months ago I discovered a little website called 'shopstyle' which has CHANGED MY LIFE. No joke. Sometimes I want to look for something really obscure (like a dress covered in lemons for example- this is actually true) or specific but I can't be bothered to flick through every shop, because when it comes to online shopping do you ever find that you forget certain shops exist? Okay here is a few screen shots of me searching for something on it so you get the idea...

I might have told a bit of a porky here, well not exactly, this is how I found the dress but House of Fraser don't sell it anymore to my knowledge...
This dress was £28 and it is by Izabel London at House of Fraser

When life gives you lemons... WEAR THEM.

My face when I found the dress!

Just wanted to share my knowledge with the world to make buying things even easier than it already is!

That's it really!

Some chick doing it better than me... This was my inspiration for the dress, seen on www.laurenconrad.com, skirt is from Alice + Olivia.

June Photo Diary

Over the month of June I've been a busy bee soaking up the sun and getting in the spirit of summer! Here are a few photos I've taken on my merry way through the month...

I took a trip up to the beach with my parents which was lovely, I love spending quality time with them both, especially as my mum is pregnant and they will be very busy soon!

I'm a sucker for sunsets...

I did Europe's longest zip line which was such an adrenaline rush it was so good!

I discovered drinking lemonade out of a jam jar is much more fun than drinking out of a glass!

I experimented with geeky glasses to add a bit of fun to an outfit.

I fell in love with this dress from House of Fraser, it makes me so happy!

I personalised my bedroom! (See my post on this)

And I attended a nineties themed 21st party!

Wow June really has been busy, and through all this I managed to start blogging, which I love doing!

If you want, post responses in the comments so we can all just have a wonderful June reminiscing session like a bunch of old women drinking tea!

That's it really!

Mum's having a baby girl, that kid is gonna be so trendy!

Preparing for a 90s Day of Fun!

I am flying to Belfast tomorrow to celebrate a friend's 21st Birthday... 90s style! The party is a treasure hunt, barbecue and disco to celebrate all while wearing 90s clothes and listening to the tunes of our childhood!

I have bought some pretty cool items off ebay to wear which may not be the most fashion forward, but they definitely scream 90s. I'm so excited to wear this outfit and I'm not even bothered that I'll look a t**t. Word on the street is that you only live once...

These dungarees I got on ebay for £6 and I just think dungarees are the best thing to wear at a 90s party!

Black scrunchies. Thinking of wearing half my hair up on top of my head in a scrunchie. Ahhhh yeah!

If the scruncies fail, I might wear this on my head like a pirate. Too cool for school.

Now these are the crowning jewel because they are so damn awful! The actual jelly shoes I  wore in the 90s weren' t quite like these, but they're quite expensive now as a brand has started making them! These were £1.99 and they'll do the job nicely! Although, I think that I will wear vans for most of the day and put these on later because they're not the comfiest things ever!

That's it really!
